So when would be the best time to get an air conditioner you ask?  Well how about ordering it today for delivery next week?  Yeah I think that’ll work just fine.  Should only need it a couple of weeks during the summer but I’m hoping it’ll be worth every penny.  Our living room picture window faces south and is in the sun ALL day.  Very pretty.  Also very uncomfortable when the daily temperature exceeds 80 degrees or so.  Enter our new pride and joy ‘The Air Conditioning Unit’!

I know…  what a dork.  I can’t help it though I’m just glad that evenings will be a little bit cooler in July (it helps with the attitudinalness).  Finally found a newish dining room set.  Really nice hardwood table and chairs.  That means easy cleanup from Viktor and Alora (they can eat like buzzsaws, I swear) and since it’s not BRAND SPANKING NEW it doesn’t matter if it gets a scuff or dent or whatever.  The chairs have some really nice scrollwork on the backs and are sturdy as heck.

Also we bought dirt yesterday.  Yes, I, the man who manages to stretch dimes into dollars bought dirt.  At least it was 50% off!!  HAHA!  Lara and Alora picked out a bunch of flowers for some hanging baskets and planters for our porch and I even suggested that we turn my old Weber BBQ into a planter.  So the dirt is for those, so I’m OK with it, kinda…

Played Street Fighter 3DS and was pretty impressed with the visual depth of the 3Dness but it added zero to the gameplay and my biggest gripe was the Super Nintendo Street Fighter Syndrome.  The SNSFS is the fact that there are only 4 face buttons when the SF gameplay style nearly DEMANDS 6 face buttons.  On the other hand the online was smooth and finding a match was quicker than on the 360.  Overall I think that if the 3D is only frosting and not the core of the game designs then it’ll be a solid machine.  Also I didn’t get a headache but it did take a couple of minutes adjusting to…  and the viewing angle needs to be dead on on the X axis but you get quite a bit of leeway on the Y axis of things.

Time to get ready for the job now.  Still haven’t gotten to that last episode of Fringe Season 2 but I will soon.  Hope everybody has a nice weekend and I’ll post again soon I hope.

Lara made some supernice manicotti a coupla days ago.  Leftover Italian goodies?  Da Bomb!  The kids have been good and helping me with the spring cleaning.  Huh, spring.  Sunshine and hail today.  Overnight in the low or sub 30’s.  It is April right?  My back sure hates weather like this.

ONE more episode of Fringe season 2 to go.  It’s weird but cool I hope it doesn’t fall off season 3 as bad as I’ve heard.  Next up I’m gonna sample Rome (HBO) and see if it’s worth persuing.  Took some Vidz of my kiddos playing Samurai Shodown 2 tonight, I’ll see what it’ll take to post it up here or Farcebook.  I’s a proud poppa!

Anyone who may be down with a First playthrough on Borderlands (360) level 25ish then I’ll be on with a friend Friday late and Saturday late too it looks like.  I’m gonna be playing a soldier and John’s a hunter.  If you need my GamerTag drop me a note!  Always good to catch up with bros while busting caps (Virtual Style).

There are a coupla sites I think are very interesting if you like video games and movies:

www.hardcoregaming101.net  for some in depth and unique views on games.

www.outlawvern.com for one of the best film writers alive today (or yesterday and most likely tomorrow)!

Not much else tonight just throwing content against this here wallpaper.  ‘Til next time folks!

What up, what up?

Feeling kinda sickly lately (phys) and greezy too.  Lotsa folks I know picked up MVC3 for the 360 and some good times were had but Capcom kinda hosed us on the online lobby mode.  The two people fighting get to see what they’re doing but everyone waiting their turn are treated to steamy, sticky and ,quite frankly, goddamn boring license card fighting.  Way to drop the ball!  Over a month later and still no fix.

If you bought MVC3 so we could play together I still wanna but I’m sorry if you feel gypped (sorry to all you gypsies out there {or nomads or whatever the PC term is}) for buying it.  On the upside I think everyone I know has Borderlands and that game is godly!

On to some other news.  Alora is doing spectacularly at school and is gonna start being phased more into the Gen Ed curriculum for 3rd grade.  She currently is doing better in many areas than a number of her typically developing schoolmates (apples to apples that is).  Happy times.  Viktor is doing well as well.  His favorite turn of phrase for the moment happens to be “I don’t know”.  You know what?  I’ll take it.

Work has been slowish lately and gas prices always put a ding in that kinda stuff anyway.  Kinda worried about this Nuclear Japan stuff and concerned about ‘drift’ across the Pacific.  Gonna keep an eye on that one.   Lara has been enjoying her volunteer work at Parent to Parent (a local first contact/resource coordination group for parents of children with special needs) and her position is steadily being elevated.  She had a nice visit when she vacationed in MI in February.  Course Munkynutz was unimpressed by his NONVISIT status.  But JDigi had to put up with her for a bit.  Glad she had time to catch up with her relatives and some old friends and such.

We got a date night and went to a local Italian place I’ve been wanting to go to for the better part of 2 years.  It was a nice little place.  As always when I visit a nonchain and locally owned eatery, I was a little jealous.  Hmmmm.  Went to the theater to see if we wanted to take in a movie.  Short answer no.  So we meandered up the road about a half hour and hit up a little place called Half Price Books.  If you don’t know you can google it (forgot how to link and it’s late) but we have ALWAYS loved that place.  So instead of spending fifty bux on a potentially stinky movie we spent the same amount on a week or two of reading material.  I got Lewis Black, Tom Brokaw and Eric Bischoff.  She got some stuff she likes and some twilight.  We both agree though…  No Ghost Fucking in the books’s!  I shit you not!  There is a PARANORMAL ROMANCE section!  So I repeat NO GHOST FUCKING!

Been arranging/rearranging my GfunGrage.  I’m not so much of a grease monkey and my wife got the spare room for crafting and storage so I got the garage.  I’ve been picking up things here and there gradually.  Got a hand me down big ass Sony Trini CRT TV and a bookshelf.  Changed the light fixture so it doesn’t feel like Buffalo Bill’s Playhouse (It puts the lotion on its skin. It puts the lotion in the basket)!  Got the Xbox and some Polk Audio HitMasters ( I don’t know if they are excellently executed or not ) some plastic drums and some real guitars and some plastic ones too!  It’s starting to shape up.  More importantly it gives me a place to play games, music, work on things and even post this right here (as long as I wear headphones that is)!

When lost finished up I pretty much quit watching TV.  Not being a snob just not much interesting on the thing (at least to me).  That being said I’m almost finished with Dexter S5 and getting WAY into Battlestar Gallactica and I promise to get caught up on Fringe (although I’ve heard that I may HATE season 3 when I get there).

Happy thing?  I have talked with Justin R., Jesse Y., Jeremiah J., Jeremiah D., Jason, John McC, and have seen that Chris B. is back.  This Xbox Live thing just ain’t no joke.  It’s like catching up while you kill/combat the world.  Loving it!

That’s it for now, hopefully more good news soon.  This post was brought to you by the word CHEESE and the number YEAH!

PS  Oh SHIT!!  I almost forgot!  THE NEO IS COMING ON FRIDAY!!!!  Samurai Shodown 2.  it is on…

hello!

What IS the frequency Kenneth?

Has it really been since the LOST finale since I’ve posted?  Kinda rhetorical when I know that answer is YES!  My apologies right NOW…  This is gonna be kinda Stream O Conciousness since it’s late and I’ve been imbibing.

Trying to find a new place to exist.  Finally rolled Snake Eyes on neighbors here at our current abode.  Trust me, if it’s bad enough for ME to move then it’s way past ‘Normal Human Tolerance Level’!  2 more weeks o’ school for the kiddos.  Viktor has a new teacher next year and Alora is already onto the 2nd grade.  My the time does fly.  Alora has at least 3 more field trips before the end of the school year and she can’t wait for a single one of them.

I miss my pals.  Munkynutz here for a half a week was definately not long enough and John having a 7 to 4 ‘er when I don’t is, like, teasing me or something!  Jess was here and it was just like 15 years ago with the book readings, video watchings and game playings.  Good times indeed!  Vodka C*ck did rock it up on Memorial Day weekend though, that was fun times!

I liked the end of LOST…  of course I didn’t spend 6 years of my life following and dissecting the show.  I caught up via Netflix this spring while I folded laundry.  It rang true for me and originally I thought it was a ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ kinda deal.  After realizing that the last shot was a lingering Oceanic wreckage deal tacked on by ABC (and not of any significance, storywise) I’m even MORE O.K. with the finale!

Fallout 3 and Mass Effect 1 are down in the books for me.  Playing Assassin’s Creed 2 currently (soon as it’s done it’s Mass Effect 2) and hooked Munky on Trials HD for XboxLive.  Just ONE MORE TIME!!!!!

The only cooking I been doing is some BBQ chickens.  Made some ribs when the ‘Nutz was here but we ate at establishments more than we ate here.  But them Ribs Was GOOD!  Grillin’ the Chickenz this week along with a coupla New Yaaks!  God I hope we get this new place.

Lost ending tonight on ABC which I can’t watch because I’m working.  Boo!  If you’re a fan of the show and bad jokes you’ll love these:

I'd throw 'em down the well too!

This, again, captures my feeling precisely!

Gollee, is that some CSI in my Lost?

Hey there everybody!

Man have we had some good times these last 10 days!  By us I mean the whole fam.  Munkynutz came to town for a job in Auburn WA and took a few full days to live it up like old times here in the household.  Made some really nice pork ribs (apple wood and mesquite) while Jesse was here and a steak salad with red pepper vin.!

Visited the Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum (and hall of fame) with my brother of another mother.  Pics are available on our Farcebook pages.  Also spent a lot of time with the kiddos (Lacey fun fair, frisbee in the park and various other tendon damaging activities) Jess also took us to the Outback Steakhouse and it turns out Viktor likes the Bloomin’ Onion like a mutha!  But what we did the most was hang out ‘Old School’.  Vidya games, Vodka, PuroResu and musics!  It was a hot time in the old towne for many nights!

I’m kinda pissed.  Lost wraps up tomorrow night and I’ve gotta work like a dumbass.  Good news.  Hell’s Kitchen starts on June 1 this year.  Ramsay is AWESOME sauce!  Can’t wait.  Deadliest Catch has been pimp as hell this year too!

I hate my neighbors.  That is all!

L8 says N8!

This woulda been, like, 100X better...

Just a quick one

This here is to let Mr. Nutz know that…

IT IS ON! INDEED!

Possibly even On Like Donkey Kong!

Good times, good times.  Munkynutz came a callin’ on Wednesday which also happens to be Viktors birthday and spent an evening with us.  Quite the treat for us as we haven’t seen him in person for 6 years.  He brought the birthday boy a Sheriff Woody pull string doll and a noisy book.  Damn was he disappointed when he found out that noisy toys don’t phase me anymore!  Viktor also scored a Razor Scooter (and brainbucket) along with a shootin’ hoops game and fluff from my dad!

The kids had a blast.  Jess should be coming back next weekend to hang for the whole weekend with us.  That is gonna be hella good!  Also I got beaten at Street Fighter 4 by Mr. Nutz.  He beat me 4 times and is bragging it up over at the facebook.  What he neglects to mention is that i whupped him the other 12 times.  Sins of omission.  I guess that’s better than nocturnal emiss…  er, nevermind.

Rewatched ‘The People Under the Stairs’ since my last post (my recommendation is don’t bother) and I just watched ‘The Hitcher’ today and I do recommend watching that again!  Jennifer Jason Leigh was/is so hot.  It also stars Rutger Hauer before he became a running joke and even a hell of a performance by C. Thomas Howell.  Probly his best IMHO.  Or at least better than ‘Soul Man’.

At least LOST wasn’t a rerun this week and some serious things went down on/around the island.  I don’t wanna spoil it if you haven’t seen it, but if you haven’t then you MUST!  Also devoured Seasons 1,2 and 3 of Arrested Development (FOX TV) within the last 2 weeks.  It was sublime and should NOT be missed.  It truly does have something for everyone.  ‘cept stupid people.  Even then they prolly wouldn’t notice.  Now I’m back to watching FRINGE.  Boy that is some good TV too!

Long night, short post so I’ll just leave this with you…

Yin Yang Much?

Bless you Bless you INDEED!

Where to start?

As I had mentioned previously here, there are number of super cool things on the immediate horizon for us as a family.

But previously… in my life.  Alora and Lara went to the Pt. Defiance Zoo with Alora’s class last week.  Pretty sure it’s the first field trip or class activity that Lara has participated in this year ( I got to do the GingerBread house project and the car wash as well ) the whole class had a blast and they came home super hype.  Alora spent her time running away from the sharks and feeding the goats.  Also tonight LOST is a rerun.  How the hell does that work?  Making up for it by watching me some Season 1 Fringe while I type this.  Getting good!

New in this episode at the Casa del Putnam!  MunkyNutz is coming to town!  Whoo0!  Haven’t seen my man Jess in person for around six years but he coming to the Great Northwest on work and is gonna spend a weekend with the fam and myself in May.  SuperHype Yeah Boi!  Here’s the kinda guy MN is…  he found out that Super Street Fighter 4 dropped today and he went to pick up a copy just so he could get spanked by yours truly.  Also I grokked that he was starting out in BorderLands tonight and I can’t wait to coop some of THAT with my man Nutz.  Well not like that you know!

Also in the immediate future, my mom is coming to visit us for a week or so at the end of June (right after school lets out).  She’ll be meeting her grandchildren in person for the first time and my wife too, come to think of it.  Lara’s already planning State Park days and a trip to the Pacific Ocean.  I’m sure there will be plenty to do.

The van is working out splendidly so far and isn’t too terrible on MPG (miles per gallon) so I’m happy so far.  Put my OLD ASS XPLOD stereo in it.  Gots me some tunes.

Also concerning musics.  I’m going to the ‘RockStar Metal Mayhem Festival’ at White River Ampitheater with a fella named Steve who is a Midwest transplant (such as myself).  He’s the nephew of an architect I know who was raised in Michigan and frequents TSRL (where I work).  Actually Corey (Steve’s uncle) helped design the Grand Traverse Mall!  Anyhow… KORN, Rob Zombie, Lamb of God and other metal goodies await my attendance!  Sweet!

Enough rambling for now just wanted put something out there…  Gamertag – UtraViolent N8 …  Super Street Fighter 4 ya’ll!
